living in the present moment —

learning & practicing mindfulness

Katherine offers workshops that teach mindfulness at various Seattle-area retirement communities, including Judson Park in Des Moines, WA, and Emerald Heights in Redmond, WA, as well as businesses and community groups. She teaches participants how to live in the moment, reduce stress and anxiety, and value each day for the miracle it offers.

mindfulness also entails acceptance of our thoughts and feelings without judging them.

How do we know when our mind and thoughts our out of sync? When our thoughts are racing, and we have endless loops of negative thinking. Stories keep repeating themselves, and critical self talk leaves us feeling depressed and anxious. The Mindfulness Workshops Katherine offers explore the skills and practice of stepping back and observing your thoughts with present-moment awareness. You will come to appreciate and accept all that is flowing to you and through you.

these practices bring you greater peace, joy, love and fulfillment.

By practicing mindfulness daily, you won’t feel like life is just passing you by. Instead, you will know that you are truly living.

~Explore your inner being and experience natural silence.
~Experience self care through rejuvenating and centering techniques.
~Become attuned with nature and find peace in Whidbey Island’s tranquil forest.

Check back in a few months time for registration information.

Each participant will be given an Organic Vegetarian Lunch in addition to the day’s activities.

what others have to say about Katherine as a teacher

I thought I was supposed to ‘just be’ more. Do less, be more. Until I heard Katherine ask in one of her workshops: ‘How can we learn to be and do at the same time?’ She taught me to sit and focus on my breath—observe my thoughts from a distance, let them go gently, and return to the present moment. It is a constant cycle of slowing down to gain perspective, letting go and returning to the truth of the present. With Katherine’s guidance, I’m starting to believe that life isn’t a choice of ‘be vs. do’. I am learning how it feels to be as I do, which changes everything.
